826,447. Hand drills. STOCKPORT TOOL & STEEL CO. Ltd. June 18, 1958, No. 19446/58. Class 83 (3). A hand and breast drill has means for attaching a handle 23, or a breast-plate 24, at the end of a handle shaft 21, and means for alternatively attaching the handle 23 at an angle of 45 degrees to the handle shaft. The drill assembly consists of a chuck unit 16, a handle shaft unit 21 and a driving unit 12, which are interconnected by a bearing-block 10. The chuck unit has a groove 131 engageable by a screw 14 which locks the spindle to the block 10. The shaft-unit is locked to the block 10 by a screw 21a. The driving unit has a spindle 17 carrying a bevel wheel 18 and a driving- crank 19, locked together by a screw 20, the crank 19 having a slot 19<SP>1</SP> therein to engage a groove 171 in the spindle.
