Abstract
In a coated body produced by the detonation process described in the parent Specification, the coating consists of at least 70% by weight of a refractory material and 0-30% by weight of a metal or alloy binder. The refractory material may comprise one or more metals (Mo, Nb, Ta), carbides (of B, Cr, Ta, Ti, W), borides (of Cr, Ti), nitrides (of Ti), oxides (of Al, Cr, Ti, Ta, Zr), or silicides (of Mo). The binder may comprise one or more of Ag, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni, Si, Al-Cr-Cu, Co-Ta, Cr-Mo, Fe-Cr or Fe-Ni. The body may be of metal, glass or plastic, and preferably should have a melting point above 315 DEG C.
