Abstract

824,662. Bearings. CAPON HEATON & CO. Ltd. March 1, 1957 [March 7, 1956], No. 7113/56. Class 12 (1). A bearing bush comprises inner and outer concentric metal sleeves 5, 6, Fig. 1, spaced by an annular insert of electrical insulating material 7 in which there is embedded a resistor 8 having a resistance of between 0.5 and 5.0 megohms. In a modification, a resistor 8, Fig. 2, is disposed in the annular space between a pair of inserts 7. In a further modification, the sleeves 5, 6 are spaced by rubber coated with conductive furnace black. The invention is applied to a support for an electrically conductive castor wheel on mobile hospital equipment.
