In a pivot bearing for moving coil electrical instruments pivot pins 13, 14 supporting a moving coil structure 1, 2 are mounted in carriers 19, 20 adapted to move resiliently both axially and radially against a spring 29. Annular flanges 30, 31 limit the movement of the coil structure 1, 2 and countersunk recesses 21, 22 allow tilting of the pins 13, 14. In a modified arrangement separate supporting plates for the carriers 19, 20 are provided and spring-pressed against the main supporting body.
