Abstract

823,188. Anchor nuts. ROHE, F. W. Nov. 29, 1957, No. 37369/57. Class 89(1) An anchor nut assembly for insertion into a cylindrical hole 25, Fig. 1, in a workpiece 26, comprises a nut 10, Fig. 3, mounted in a retainer 18 and held therein by pins 23. The retainer is part-cylindrical and the nut is capable of limited movement relatively thereto. The side walls 21 of the recess are arcuate and the pins 23 are axially aligned. The retainer has a radial bore 20 which is aligned with a bore in the workpiece to receive the shank of a bolt which engages the nut. In a modification, the recess 27<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 5, has straight side walls 30 and the nut 10<SP>1</SP> is retained by pins 23<SP>1</SP> extending between and entracted in the region 9 in each case, to fication, the pins are short and positioned at diagonally opposite corners of the retainer.. The pitch diameter is slightly contracted in the region 9 in each case, to render the nut self-locking. Specification 792,924 is referred to.
