Abstract

873,980. Wall-plugs &c. FISCHER, A. Aug. 14, 1957 [Sept. 20, 1956; Nov. 13, 1956], No. 25712/57. Class 89(1). A wall-plug device comprises a sleeve 4, Fig. 6, e.g. of synthetic resin, with longitudinal slots 6, the sides of which are interconnected by webs 6a, and a bore with a conical end 15 to receive a conical nut 2, Fig. 3, having grooves 3 engaged by projections 5 to prevent relative turning. The ends of the projections are heated and bent inwards to hold the sleeve and nut in assembly. Ribs 8 prevent the sleeve from turning in a hole in a wall as the bolt or screw is tightened in the nut breaking the webs and expanding the sleeve. The nut may be of synthetic resin and have a screwed bore to receive a wood-screw.
