Abstract

822,745. Carbon sheet holders. ENGLAND, H. M. Aug. 28, 1957 [Sept. 21, 1956], No. 28934/56. Class 16 In a manifold carbon transfer set for use with typewriters which comprises a flexible backing sheet 10 preferably of thermoplastic material having secured at one end a pair of stop or guide members such as 13, 23 and 14, 24 and provided adjacent the opposite end with a plurality of pockets 20 disposed in adjacent relationship along each lateral boundary of the sheet 10 and a plurality of flexible strips 30 having their opposite ends detachably engaging in oppositely disposed pockets 20, each of said strips forming means for detachably securing a carbon transfer sheet to the backing sheet 10, each pocket 20 is provided with a number of openings 27 spaced apart along its length, and a least one of the stop or guide members 13, 23 or 14, 24 is laterally displaceable to form an adjustable guide for an edge of sheets of stationery (not shown). The sheet 10 is folded round a rod 11 and welded to itself at 12, the rod and sheet engaging in keyhole-section slots in the guide members 13, 23 and 14, 24 of which the parts 23 and 24 are movable along a guide rod 16. Whatever length of strip 30 is exposed to carry a carbon transfer sheet, the parts 23 and 24 are adjusted to lie opposite the openings 27 in which the ends of the strip have been inserted. An auxiliary guide rod (not shown) for use with sheets of different widths and having a guide member 18, with which the rod 11 also engages, may be provided. The pockets 20 may be formed by welding a second sheet 22 of thermoplastic material to the sheet 10 along edges 25 and 26.
