439,352. Envelopes. SHERMAN, J. Q., 1, Philadelphia Drive, Dayton, Ohio, U.S.A. May 24, 1935, No. 15233. Convention date, June 4, 1934. [Class 146 (ii)] An envelope assembly for use in a writing-machine comprises a series of detachably interconnected envelopes arranged in a continuous strip and adapted to be positively fed and registered in proper aligned relation into writing position in the machine. As shown, a number of envelopes 10 are interconnected in overlapping relation by staples 12, and the margins of the envelopes are provided with feed holes 14. The envelopes need not overlap, and can be joined together either by vertically arranged staples, or by removable transverse adhesive strips. In further modifications, the envelopes are detachably secured to continuous adhesive strips of material. The strips may be single or folded, and may have either feed holes therein which coincide with feed holes in the margins of the envelopes, or extended margins which are provided with the necessary feed holes. In some arrangements the envelopes can be stacked in zigzag folded form.
