642,552. Envelopes ; seals; books &c. IMBAULT, H. Dec. 22, 1947, No. 33869. Convention date, May 18, 1943. [Classes 16 and 146 (ii)] A device for crimping and perforating an assembly of sheets or leaves in which one edge at least is bound together by a line of deformations and has an adjacent line of perforations substantially parallel, comprises a pair of crimping discs or wheels 3 mounted for rotation on two parallel driving shafts 1, 2, a pair of perforating discs or wheels 4 mounted on the shafts 1, 2 at the sides of the discs 3 and a table 5 situated slightly lower than the pass between the discs, the pairs of discs 3, 4 producing deformations and perforations in sheets or leaves laid on the table 5 and passed between the discs. The sheets or leaves are aligned by an upright edge 6 on the table 5. For securing the edges of envelopes the discs 3, 4 are contiguous as shown but may be spaced apart for forming booklets with counterfoils, the discs being spaced at a distance corresponding to the size of the counterfoil.
