Abstract

923,953. Drying trays. DAVIDSON & CO. Ltd. Feb. 14, 1962 [Feb. 22, 1961], No. 6501/61. Class 34 (2). A tea-drying tray comprises a sheet of perforated material having a rib at or near each of two opposite edges of the sheet and extending the full length of the edges. A tea-drying tray comprises a perforated metal sheet 12, which may be corrugated, having upstanding and depending ribs 14, 16 formed by folding the sheet, which ribs are formed respectively at the leading and trailing edges 13, 15 considered in the direction of travel of the tray through a drying chamber. The marginal portions 17, 18, located between the edges 13, 15 and ribs 14, 16 provide lips which overlap similar lips on adjacent trays, and the perforations may be of uniform or varied sizes. The end edges 19, 20 of the sheet have carriers 21, 22 which both provide rigidity and means for attaching the tray to chains of an endless movable conveyer (not shown) when the tray is part of a conveyer through a tea-drying apparatus.
