Abstract

822,525. Television. COLE Ltd., E. K., and MOLTING, A. R. April 24, 1958 [April 25, 1957], No. 13154/57. Class 40 (3). In a television receiver an apertured masking plate H surrounding the screen end of a rectangular cathode-ray tube P is retained in position against a bearing surface E provided by a ledge B around the inner surface of the cabinet by means of spring clips J inserted in recesses formed in the ledge. The clips (Fig. 3), are retained in position by means of an edge M which " digs into " the cabinet wall when the plate H is moved against the force of the portion L for centring adjustment. The ledge B is set back from the front edge of the cabinet walls to provide a bearing surface against which a transparent protective screen C is mounted and the outer rim of the cabinet is covered by a decorative escutcheon D (Fig. 2, only).
