Abstract

822,070. Packages. IVERS-LEE CO. Dec. 27, 1956 [April 23, 1956], No. 39275/56. Class 94(1). A package comprising a flat inner container of flexible sheet material secured at one edge to a cover sheet, has a portion facilitating posting of the package, the portion including tongue and slot closure means. The portion maybe torn off, leaving a closeable package. In one embodiment, a container A is secured by a margin 7 to parts b, f of the cover sheet. A closure flap C extends from the part b, being doubled at 16 and its doubled edge tucked between the part f and the container. A portion D is connected to the part f and provides a strip 24 laying on the closure flap and a panel a on which postal information is written. It also provides tongues 32, 33 which enter a slot 34 to close the package. The part D may be torn off along a weakened line 21 leaving a packaged closed by the flap C. In a further embodiment, Fig. 20, the doubled closure flap C extends from the part b and has the portion D connected to it by a tear line 40. A tongue 46 enters a slot 43 to close the package for mailing, the tongue being shaped to form, when torn off along a line 45, an index card. In another embodiment, Figs. 24-29 (not shown shown) a long tongue is provided capable of being reverse folded when in its slot to provide a positive lock. The contents, tablets as shown, may be protected by apertured sheets E as. described in Specification 799,748.
