Abstract

821,747. Assemblies of electronic components. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 31, 1957, No. 17360/57. Class 37. A tuned circuit is made by moulding a capacitor in a block of insulating material; mounting an inductor on the block, connecting the components together, adjusting the inductor to give the required resonant frequency and fixing the inductor in the adjusted position. As shown, a high grade, such as mica, capacitor 1 is embedded in a plate 2 of synthetic resin and connected to two of the wires e-h also moulded in the plate 2. A pottype inductor 3 such as is described in Specifications 723,846 and 739,942, [both in Group XXXV], is mounted in a depression moulded in the face of the plate 2. The wires e-h are respectively connected within the plate to wires a-d, hence either a shunt or a series tuned circuit is available by connecting the inductor to the appropriate pair of the wires a-d. After tuning by rotation or axial movement of one side of the pot core, the inductor adjustment is sealed by adhesive such as ethoxylene resin.
