Abstract

A power capacitor (10) comprises dielectric layers (11) such as silvered mica, disposed between two metal plate electrodes (12) and encased in an insulating material e.g. epoxy resin. Each plate is extended by a flange (14) parallel to the plane of the dielectric layers. The flanges have tabs perpendicular to the plates for mounting onto conductors (17), and batteries. The power capacitor may be used for connection, decoupling, and for compensation of the power factor at high frequencies.
