Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform both electric tuning and mechanical tuning by arranging electrodes on both surfaces of a piezoelectric element and by arranging one surface of a dielectric resonator opposing to one electrode surface at a prescribed interval while fitting a tuning plate to the other electrode surface. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 12 and 13 are formed on both surfaces of piezoelectric element 11 of barium titanate or the like and tuning plate 9 is arranged on one electrode 12. Then, dielectric resonator 8 is arranged on dielectric substrate 1 opposing to the other electrode 13 on piezoelectric element 11 at distance L'. Next, power source 13 is connected between electrodes 12 and 13 of this piezoelectric element 11 and the thickness of piezoelectric element 11 is varied to vary distance L' from dielectric resonator 8, performing electric tuning. Further, tuning plate 9 is moved up or down mechanically to vary distance L', performing mechanical tuning. Thus, the tuning of the microwave oscillator can be carried out electrically and mechanically.
