Abstract

A high voltage capacitor has a very high resonant frequency. It is made up capacitive elements connected in series without any increase of parasitic inductance. The capacitor is made-up of four capacitive elements (e.g. 11). They are connected in series and stacked between two terminals (15...). Each capacitive element (11, 12, 13, 14) has a first plate (broken line), a second plate (plain line) and a dielectric material. A plate of any one of the capacitive elements (11, 12, 13, 15) makes contact with one of the plates of the next capacitive element or with one of the terminals (15, 16). Each element (11, 12, 13, 15) is preqound and stacked to provide good mechanical and electrical contacts.
