Abstract

820,017. Two-part couplings. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. July 9, 1957 [July 24, 1956], No. 21761/57, Class 38 (1). The plug and socket parts 11, 12 are connected to a rocket, helicopter, airplane, &c. and a power supply respectively and are separated by firing an explosive charge housed in a recess 24 in a shell 22 of part 11. Part 27 of a sleeve 25 on part 11 fits into recess 24, thus forming a space 30 for the explosive, the sleeve 25 being secured to shell 22 by shear-pins 32 which are fractured on explosion. A rotatable sleeve 14 on part 12 screws on to sleeve 25. The charge 31 is exploded through a primer 39 fired through a power wire 41. Specification 648,675 is referred to.
