Abstract

819,015. Liquid fuel burners. BROCKHOUSE HEATER CO Ltd. April 5, 1957 [April 5, 1956], No. 10384/56. Class 75(1) An electrically operated oil burner for domestic boilers and small furnaces, comprises a base member 10 having a housing 21 on one side in which is mounted a fan 22 preferably of centrifugal type, and which carries a nozzle 18 projecting therefrom in which is the oil burner nozzle and spark igniting means, and on the opposite side an oil supply pump, an electric motor 14 and step up transformer 16, a shaft 23 from the motor extending through the member 10 and carrying the fan. Oil from the supply pump passes via a pipe 19 to a solenoid operated valve 17 in parallel with the motor circuit so that the valve closes before the motor and fan come to rest, whereby dribbling of oil from the jet is avoided. The housing 21 has an air inlet hole on the outer side partly closed by a shield 25. The oil pump is driven by a belt from a shaft 23. The components are bolted to the member 10 which is mounted on a pillar 11 having a foot 12 by means of U-bolts 13, so that the height of the nozzlez 18 can be adjusted.
