818,800. Vehicles with transferable bodies. TENNANT, A. A. Sept. 5, 1956, Neo..27082/56. Class 78 (4). A vehicle body A (Fig. 2) for transfer between one vehicle and another is formed under its floor with a number of transverse rollers carried in bearings 16 and formed with reduced portions 28a, 30 for engagement with tracks 22 of different widths on the vehicles or on the floor of a warehouse. The body A may be adapted to receive a king pin 34 (Fig. 1) coupling the body, when it is carried by a trailer B, to a tractor vehicle B<SP>1</SP>. A lift C (Fig. 8) may feed bodies A to rails 32b on different decks 38, 40, 42 of a ship D or may serve to transfer the bodies A from a carrier vehicle to a different level in a warehouse. Rails for receiving the bodies A may be carried in the body of an aircraft.
