Abstract

1277194 Transport systems P LAZENBY and B B FORDHAM 13 Aug 1969 [21 May 1968] 24082/68 Heading B7L [Also in Division B8] Load carriers 16, supported on air jets 15, are propelled from a loading station (not shown) by a pneumatic ram to an unloading station 40 and are returned to the loading station by an air jet 26. Movement of the carriers is assisted by further jets 28. The carriers may be shaped to support powder, liquid or articles, such as swiss rolls 13. As shown, the unloading station 40 comprises a tray 42 provided with holes in its base 44 and pivotable to the position shown by means of a pneumatic ram. The system may be controlled manually or automatically.
