Abstract

1,200,310. Cabinets; warehouse storage systems. G. COPPEL. 31 July, 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 35141/67. Headings A4B and A4J. [Also in Divisions B8] A transport container comprises shelves 11 rigidly connected to and within a skeleton box-like outer frame formed by rigidly interconnected iron bars 1, a floor, roof 2, and wall panels 3, 4 being attached to the outer frame but not making an essential contribution to the rigidity of the container, and is provided at one or both ends with leg struts 17 telescopically received in the container or foldable against the bottom or sides of the container, the struts 17 being capable of supporting the container in a tilted condition. Vertical partitions 12 sub-divide the container. Front and rear end panels are detachably secured to the outer frame by hooking devices 7. Semi-cylindrical supports 8 on the underside of the floor provide a rolling surface when the container is being tilted. In use, goods 13 slide towards the lower end of the tilted shelves for removal. The container is provided with sockets 16 to receive the arms of forked lifting devices and with rings 15 for the attachment of slings (22, Fig. 3a). Containers may be located in stacked condition by interengaging the supports 8 in a recess defined by angle bars 9, 10 secured to the top of a subjacent container. Containers may be placed side-by-side on opposite sides of a lane defined by portals 27, Fig. 5, to form a warehouse storage system.
