Abstract

818,723. Electromagnets. DETROIT COIL CO. Oct. 1, 1956 [May 7, 1956], No. 29833/56. Addition to 771,404. Class 35. An electromagnet in accordance with the parent Specification has terminals on its base to engage terminals on the device to be actuated. As shown, the winding is connected to a pair of plugs 304 mounted in the closing plate 224 of the oil-filled casing in such manner that they engage sockets 312 in an adaptor plate 290 forming the upper part of the device, e.g. switch or valve to be actuated by the plunger via the two-part pin 272. The electromagnet is mounted between a rubber pad 234 and a spring 240 and the plunger can be operated manually by push-button 246. U.S.A. Specification 2,671,187 also is referred to.
