817,292. Washing-machines. WUCK, K., and KRESSE, A. May 29, 1956 [June 1, 1955], No. 16698/56. Class 138 (2). A disc-shaped rotor 2 is arranged for rotation adjacent the inside surface of a laundry container 1, the inner face of the rotor consisting essentially of two inclined smooth surfaces 2a, 2b which extend downwardly from a diametrical ridge line of the rotor and form angles of not more than 30 degrees with a plane normal to the rotor axis. The rear face of the rotor is provided with ribs 4 which rotate in a casing 5 and draw water through small bores 6 in the rotor and return it to the container through the peripheral clearance around the rotor. The ribs 4 may also pump water out through a connection 7. The container 1 may be of rectangular or square outline or may comprise a centrifuging drum.
