Abstract
816,944. Mounting electric motors. METALASTIK Ltd. May 7, 1957 [May 18, 1956], No. 15610/56. Class 79(3) A mounting for a traction motor 7 (Fig. 1) on the bogie of an electric locomotive comprises a V-frame 8 attached by resilient bushes to the motor 7 and bogie. In one example resilient joints 9 at lugs 10 on the transom 5 comprise inner spherelike elements on bolts 11 enveloped by a layer of rubber-like material compressed between two part-spherical elements. The resilient joint, Fig. 2, for the motor 7 comprises a cuff 12 attached by bolts 13 to the frame 8 and enclosing a rubber-like bush 19. A bolt 15 on the motor is mounted within an adjustable eccentric bush 14 and rotatable within a tubular member 16 attached to the motor by bolts 17. The bush 19 may be under radial compression between the cuff 12 and an inner ring 18. In a modification (not shown) the bracket 10 may be attached to the solebars 6.
