Abstract

A swinging arm is mounted on a cross shaft clamped to a chassis by resilient mountings. These mountings are formed by a length of elastic tube fitted over the shaft and the whole compressed between bearing shells. Since no keyways and keys are used, the shaft and shells are lighter than with conventional mountings and overload does not damage the components. The spaces between the elastic tube fitting and the arm near the bolted joint has bevels to conform with the cuneiform shapes.
