Abstract

815,551. Root crop harvesters. OVERUMS BRUK A. B. Nov. 1, 1956 [Nov. 3, 1955], No. 33419/56. Class 6(3). A beet harvester comprises two shares 2 arranged side by side and converging rearwardly, and a feeding device 5 which cooperates with the shares to move the lifted beets rearwardly to a conveyer 3, the feeding device 5 being provided with pins 8 to prevent lateral displacement of the beets. Two guide bars 12 are pivoted to the rear portion of the shares and rest against the transverse rods of the conveyers 3 so as to be vibrated by the same and thereby partly remove the soil from the beets, the spacing between the transverse rods being such as to allow soil and stones to fall therethrough to the ground. The upper run of the conveyer 3 forms the bottom of a channel for the purpose of preventing beets from falling from the conveyer 3, the side walls 10 of the channel extending forwardly to the feeding device 5.
