Abstract

In the production of phthalocyanine dyeings and prints on textile materials, e.g. of cellulose, regenerated cellulose or natural silk, by applying a heavy metal-containing condensed iminopyrrolenine and developing with, for example, steam or dry heat, or by a wet treatment, improved results are obtained by premordanting the materials with an organic compound containing acid groups such as sulphonic, sulphinic or carboxylic acid groups or phenolic groups. As compounds containing acidic groups there may be employed sulphurated chlorophenols or thiophenols, substituted 1 : 3 : 5-triazines and stilbenes containing acid groups, compounds containing acid groups of the benzidine-, diphenylamine-, diaminodiphenylurea- and flavonic acid series, or a tannin-tartar emetic mordant. Numerous examples are given. Specifications 362,501, 436,891, 495,479, [all in Group IV], 687,655, 698,039, 698,049, 698,070, [Group IV (b)], 713,459, 717,137 and 759,277, [Group XIV], are referred to.
