Abstract
In the dyeing of cellulose textile materials, the fibres of which are tightly packed or tightly woven or swell readily during wet processing, with reactive dyestuffs, improved results are obtained by previously or simultaneously treating the materials with a compound of the formula <FORM:0884158/IV (c)/1> wherein R represents the radical of a watersoluble aromatic compound, -X- stands for -O-, -S-, or <FORM:0884158/IV (c)/2> in which n is a small integer, and each Y represents independently a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or a thiocyano group. Specified compounds are 4 : 6-dichloro-triazines substituted in the 2-position by (61-sulpho-21-naphthylamino), (411-amino-31 : 311-disulpho-diphenyl-41-amino), (41-b -sulphatoethoxyphenylamino), (21-hydroxy-31 - carboxy - 51 - sulpho - phenylamino) and (31 - amino - 41 - sulphophenyl - amino) groups. The dyeing conditions are those described in Specifications 733,471, 816,925, 820,470, 823,098 and 838,336. The reactive dyes are of the nitro, azo, anthraquinone or phthalocyanine series containing the usual reactive groups and in this respect numerous Specifications are also referred to. Examples are given. Specifications 209,723, 298,484, 460,224, 740,533, 775,308, 772,030, 774,925, 781,930, 785,120, 785,222, 802,198 and 838,335 also are referred to.
