Abstract
Acylsulphanilyl-thioureas, in which the acyl group is the residue of an aliphatic carboxylic acid, are made by reacting an acylsulphanilyl cyanamide, or a salt thereof, with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal thiosulphate, at a temperature of 100 DEG C. or higher. Examples describe the preparation of acetyl sulphanilylthiourea by heating aqueous sodium thiosulphate with (1) the sodium salt of acetylsulphanilylcyanamide; and (2) the calcium salt of acetylsulphanilyl cyanamide.
