Abstract

813,916. Valves. CLAUSEN, M., [trading as DANFOSS VED INGENIOR M. CLAUSEN]. Feb. 13, 1956 [Dec. 23, 1955], No. 4433/56. Class 135. A valve diaphragm 7, e.g. for a valve controlled by a pilot valve 13, consists of at least two thin layers 16, 17 of flexible durable synthetic plastic sheet having a circular central zone co-operating with a circular valve seat 5 and an outer zone, and at least one supporting element 18 between the layers in the central zone. The layers may be of polytetra fluorethylene and are welded or glued together around a supporting element of rubber, silicone rubber or other resilient plastic. The diaphragm may be corrugated and may have an annular supporting element co-operating with an annular seat and perforated at its centre. As shown the diaphragm valve is controlled by a pilot valve 13 actuated by a solenoid 15 controlling communication between diaphragm chamber 9 and a downstream connection 12, the chamber 9 communicating upstream via a diaphragm or casing aperture 10, 11 respectively.
