Abstract
813,852. Electric wave filters. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. May 15, 1956 [May 16, 1955], No. 15149/56. Class 40 (8). An electric wave stop band filter particularly for eliminating a small band in the vicinity of the pilot frequency in a carrier telecommunication system, consists of a differential T-network, wherein the stray capacitance of the shunt arm, which includes a piezoelectric crystal, is balanced by a capacitor in parallel with the series arm. The differential T-network illustrated comprises a series inductance coil Lo the mutual inductance M of the two halves of which may be preselected by winding the halves on the two outer sections of a three-section coil former. The shunt arm consists of the primary winding of a transformer in the secondary circuit, of which is a piezoelectric crystal Q and a parallel trimming condenser Tr. A capacitor Ck is connected in parallel with the inductance Lo to balance the stray capacitance of the shunt arm, and may have such a temperature coefficient as to render the operation of the filter independent of ambient temperature changes.
