Abstract
813,588. Garment pockets. WESCOT Ltd., [formerly WESTCOT OVERALL MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd.], and PETTIT, H. E. Oct. 23, 1957 [Sept. 24, 1956], No. 29180/56. Class 141 An elongated pocket for carrying tools &c. has its lower end, sides, and the major part, or all, of its upper end closed, and is provided with at least one opening at or near its upper end for the insertion and removal of a rule &c. In Fig. 1, the pocket comprises three parts 14-16 made of similar blanks (Figs. 2-5, not shown) folded to the shapes shown in Fig. 1, and stitched below the hip pocket 29 on an overall. The edges 18, 19, 21 and 24 are left free to provide entrances to the pockets. The corners of the pocket openings are reinforced with strong stitching 36 and the lower part of the pocket has a reinforcing inner layer 31. In a modification, Fig. 7 (complete) (not shown), the triangular gap between the edges 21, 24 is omitted, the opening between these two edges comprising a straight slit. In a further modification, Fig. 8, the pocket has only two entrances 18, 42a, and the upper edge 43 is closed.
