Abstract
811,441. Pit props. BECORIT GRUBENAUSBAU G.m.b.H. July 27, 1955 [Nov. 17, 1954], No. 21732/55. Class 20(2) A telescopic pit prop is set before locking by means of a member 15 of I-shape adapted to be passed in between the two parallel parts of the upper prop member 11 and turned through 90 degrees and held in position by a wedge 19 driven between the prop member 11 and one cross bar 18 of the member 15. The wedge 19 is bifurcated to pass on each side of the web 16 of the member 15 and is driven to raise the prop member 11 to set position by a wedge 14 resting on a bearing plate 13 resting on the lower prop member. In a modification one flange of the member 15 is removable to allow it to be placed in position.
