Abstract

617,198. Loading platforms. WALFORD, C. S. R. June 17, 1946, No. 18163. [Class 78 (iv)] In a loading platform having a horizontal surface for supporting goods and a vertical end surface, the corner between these two surfaces is formed by a roller (or a series of aligned rollers all of the same diameter) secured in position in the corner but free to rotate. The roller 1, Fig. 1, forms the corner between the horizontal plate 2 and the vertical plate 3, tangential therewith, and is supported on the two rows of small rollers 4, 5 on spindles 6, 7 which small rollers pass through a plurality of transverse webs 8, Fig. 2, which in addition to serving as bearings for the rollers hold the plates 2, 3, to which they are welded, in fixed relation to one another. The arrangement is such that the complete roller unit may be installed as a whole in a rebate on the edge of any platform.
