Abstract
811,345. X-ray apparatus. GENERAL RADIOLOGICAL Ltd. Aug. 15, 1957 [May 15, 1956], No. 15151/56. Class 98(1) Apparatus for making radiographs in rapid succession spaced along the part to be studied consists of a table with supports of sufficient height to accommodate the rest of the apparatus guide rails secured beneath or beside the table, and a multiple cassette holder which runs on the rails and is attached to an X-ray tube support column. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the table top 1 is supported by legs or end plates 2. Guide rails 3 beside, but preferably separate from, the table top, contain rollers 4 on which slides 5 roll. A box-like carriage 7 suspended by links 6 from the slides 5 contains a stack of cassettes resting on a plate 8 pressed upwards by springs 9. The top cassette is in contact with rollers 11, and may be withdrawn through a gap at the top of the carriage 7. To facilitate withdrawal, the cassettes are placed in trays 12, the handles 13 of which project through an opening in the carriage front wall. The back of the carriage is attached by arms 14 to a collar 15 on a movable column supporting the X-ray tube. A bar 16 on the carriage enables the operator to move the carriage 7 and X-ray tube support column with one hand, the used cassettes being withdrawn with the other hand.
