Abstract

1,168,093. Roll dispensers. H. SCHWAB. 7 Feb., 1967, No. 5765/67. Heading A4G. Equipment for unwinding rolled floor covering, rewinding and cutting it comprises two separate co-operating units, namely an unwinding unit having a base 1, Fig. 1 carrying a turntable 3 supporting the vertical roll with non-rotatable open support and guide rings 7, 10, and a take up and cutting unit having a base 20, Fig. 2 on wheels 22 carrying a turntable 54 with removable spindle 56 supported at 58 and a column having a guide 34, a hinged gripping bar 28, and a vertically movable cutter 38, 40. The take up unit is wheeled to a selector unwinding unit, the covering leading edge fed between bar 28 hinged at 26 on upright 24 and an upright 32 and fed into open rings 60, 61 on spindle 56 where it is gripped by manually operated gripping bar 65. The covering is rolled manually or via handle 69 and gearing onto the spindle 56, wheel 52 actuating the length counter 50. Handle 30 is moved down to press bar 28 against upright 32 after which cutter 38 is moved down a column 36 to sever the covering along the edge of the bar 28. The rewound covering on spindle 56 is removed, gripper 65 manually released and spindle 56 withdrawn.
