Abstract

836,776. X-ray apparatus. MEDICAL SUPPLY ASSOCIATION Ltd. June 15, 1956 [March 21, 1955], No. 8146/55. Class 98(1) [Also in Group XIV] The centre section 18 of an operating table consists of an open rectangular frame supporting a removable cover plate 18 of material transparent to X-rays. Below the cover plate is a slidable carriage (Figs. 2, 3) for holding an X-ray film cassette, the carriage consisting of a rectangular frame with a removable shallow tray 20 carrying four spring- pressed bolts 22 engaging holes in the frame 19. The bolts have downturned inner ends serving as handles to withdraw the bolts from the frame so that either side of the tray can be lowered as shown in Fig. 3, the downward movement being limited by a central stirrup 24. The carriage is locked, as a whole, by hand levers 25 which rot-- ate a shaft carrying cams engaging guide rails depending from the centre section.
