Abstract

473,733. Cabinets. COLEMAN, A. M., BA1ER, C. C., and LEE, G. A. Oct. 17, 1936, No. 28315. [Class 52 (i)] A typewriter or like article is carried by a platform 12 which can slide horizontally into a casing 10 and when fully withdrawn; freeing rearward rollers 19 from rails 20 can be raised vertically to the position of use by the aid of a spring or other counterbalancing means, rearward motion being prevented by a catch which is freed when the platform is again fully depressed. In the preferred form the torque from a spring 22 is applied through a fusee-cam 23 and cable 24 to a parallel linkage 25, 26 and the device is held in the fully raised position by a catch 33 operated by a handle 38, there being interposed in the operating linkage a feeler arm 37 which prevents release if any portion of the machine projects beyond the platform.
