Abstract
372,081. Coin-freed article delivery apparatus. HARPER, P., Adelaide House, Ashurst Walk, Croydon. April 23, 1931, No. 12032. [Class 27.] Storage.-In machines for delivering articles, which are provided with two storage columns from which the articles are fed in succession, the second column feeding automatically when the first column has been emptied, the second or auxiliary column 4 is pivotally hung by a bar 6 and hooks 5 at the back of a fixed column 1, and presses against and retains the articles in the column 1 during the opening of the delivery drawer or slide 3. When the drawer is closed, a leaf spring 8 thereon engages a leaf spring 7 on the column 4 to hold this column in the vertical position, the articles therein being held up by sloping supports 9 which are carried by a bridge 10 fixed to the column 1. When the drawer is pulled out, the spring 8 is depressed by the bridge 10 and the column 4 swings against the articles in column 1. When column 1 is empty, column 4 swings into feeding position in column 1 and the spring 7 is not then engaged by the spring 8.
