Delivery of articles stored in piles; coin action, mechanical-connection.- In apparatus of the kind in which the delivery drawer a Fig. 3, is locked by a rearwardly pivoted retaining pawl g engaging teeth c on the drawer, the pawl having a central slot to receive the coin which rests on a fixed platform, the nose g<3> of the pawl is provided with a central recess g<4> to guide the pawl-nose up the rim of the coin x, when the drawer is pulled out. The coin enters a recess a<1> in the drawer to rest on the platform h which is adjustable in height by means of screws h<3> and elongated slots h<4>, for use with coins of different diameter. The recess a<1> in the drawer provides a bar a<2> which moves the coin to lift the pawl g, the coin finally falling off the platform into a money-box. The platform may be a plate h, Fig. 11, adjustable horizontally by screws h<2> on a support h which is vertically adjustable by screws and slots h<3> h<4> and a screwed pillar h<6> passing through a lug h<7>. Coin-slit closing-devices.-The bottom of the coin-shoot i is cut away at i<1> to admit an arm j which is drawn therein to close the shoot by a spring j<2>, when the drawer is pulled out. The arm j is pressed back by an arm in the drawer when this is closed. The shoot may be closed by an arm positively actuated by the drawer in each direction.
