[Class 27.] In a coin-freed vending-machine wherein a column of trays is supported so that the bottom tray may be released so as to descend and rock into an inclined position to deliver an article thereon, the trays are provided with lugs engaging in channel guides. As shown, trays 3, Figs. 2 and 3, supported on brackets 5 on a pair of slides 6, are provided with lugs 4 engaging in posts 1, 2, the bottom tray when released falling on to brackets 10, 11 where it is held inclined to deliver an article on to a shelf 12. The trays have notches 9 placed differently in alternate trays so that when the notches of the bottom tray are in register with the brackets 5 to release the said tray, the tray above will be supported until the next operation of the slides. These slides, inter-connected by a rod 8, Fig. 4, are reciprocated by a draw-bar 13 which is normally locked by a pawl 14 and released by a suitable coin-operated device. When the bar 13 is withdrawn with the slides 6 in the position shown in Fig. 4, a lever 16 on the bar is tilted by an abutment 17 thereon engaging a stop 20 on a latch 19 on one of the slides and engages the arm 15B of a lever 15, Fig. 5, connected by a pin 23 to the slide, to move the slide to the position shown in Fig. 6, the bar being retracted by a spring. On the next withdrawal of the bar 13, the lever 16, tilted by gravity, engages the arm 15<A> and returns the slide to the position shown in Fig. 4.
