Abstract

390,391. Coin-freed article-delivery apparatus. HARPER, P. S., Adelaide House, Ashurst Walk, Croydon. July 26, 1932, No. 21104. [Class 27.] In coin - freed article - delivery machines having a delivery receptacle adjacent an opening in the outer casing, the opening is provided with a pivoted flap which swings inwardly to prevent access to the mechanism, or pilfering, through the opening. Articles delivered from a magazine 8 fall to a receptacle or trough 2 adjacent an opening 12 in the front of the machine. The opening is closed by a flap 4 pivoted at 5, which flap is pushed inwardly for the article to be taken from the trough 2. The flap 4 has a baffle plate 11 extending down from the region of the pivot 5 and this baffle closes the passage between the magazine 8 and the trough 2 when the flap 4 is pressed inwardly. The front part 3 of the base of the trough is curved to the same radius as the flap 4, and rises to a hump 13 where it connects with the main trough base. The baffle plate 11 may be dispensed with.
