[Also in Groups VIII and XL(c)] A structure which may be incorporated as part of the skin of an aeroplane, e.g. in the tail elements, comprises a non-conductive woven sheet, having metal deposited on it so as to render it electrically conductive but not impermeable to liquids this woven sheet being encased between layers of water-proof, solid, electrically non-conducting resin, the layers being bonded through the permeable woven sheet and around the periphery of the sheet. The woven sheet may be of glass, cotton, linen, hemp, ramie or jute and the resin may be thermoplastic, thermosetting or natural resin. The metal may be copper, zinc, tin, lead, cadmium, or aluminium and may be sprayed onto the woven sheet in a given pattern, e.g. by masking or a metallised sheet may be cut to any given shape and then surrounded by resin. Metallising may be carried out on one or more sides of the woven sheet and more than one metallised layer may be used.
