Abstract

810,628. Pipe joints. CONEX-TERNA Ltd., and WHITWORTH, F. Nov. 4, 1957 [Nov. 6, 1956], No. 33794/56. Class 99(1). A synthetic plastic pipe 11 is secured to a hollow support member 10 by a nut 14 internally screw-threaded at 17 and provided with one or more grooves 18 extending through the screw-threads 17. The end portion 12 of the support member 10 is bent inwardly and has an adjacent peripheral shoulder 13 which cooperates with the nut 14 to retain the pipe 11. A further shoulder 15 is provided on the member 10 to limit its depth of insertion in the pipe 11 and to engage a flange 19 on the nut. The nut 14 is screwed on the pipe and cuts its own screw-thread.
