Abstract
810,194. Indexing; filing papers. SHANNON Ltd. Dec. 16, 1955 Dec. 28, 1954], No. 37482/54. Addition to 702,274. Classes 16 amd 146(1) A tab 12 for use with a document folder 2, 4, card index guide or the like is formed from a single piece of material with a body 16, 18, the rear face of which engages the front face of a rigid edge 6 of the folder, and at least one tongue 22 which is sheared from the body part 18 and displaced rearwardly along a line 24 to engage the rear face of the edge 6, the tongue 22 being formed with a channel 26 to co-operate with one or more of a row of projections 14 of rectangular cross-section formed on the rear face of edge 6 the lower wall of the channel 26 being substantially at right angles to the general direction of the tongue 22 to.engage the lower edges of the rectangular projections 14. The two parts 16, 18 of the tab are at an angle of about 20 degrees to display a label 32 covered by a sheath 34 with upper and lower lips 36, 38, the lip 36 being cut away at 40 and having a notch to co-operate with a projection 42 on the tab. Semi-circular holes 44 in the tab assist removal of the sheath 34 by a finger tip. A rounded projection 28 at the rear of body part 18 co-operates with one of a number of holes at intervals along the face of the edge 6. The projections 14 are formed by shearing iand pressing out the metal of a suspension bar 6 clamped over the top edge of the folder 2, there being no rounded rib between the projections as described in the parent Specification.
