Abstract

1,223,198. Suspension rails; index tabs. SHANNON Ltd. 20 Oct., 1969 [23 Oct., 1968], No. 50388/68. Heading B6E. A suspension filing folding or index card guide 3, Fig. 1, is provided along its upper edge with a U-shaped suspension bar 4, the front face of which is furnished with spaced recesses or holes (not shown) and the rear face is fitted with aligned diamond shaped projections 5, the aligned recesses and projections serving for retention of index tabs 6. Each index tab is integrally moulded from transparent plastics material and includes a window portion 7 to 10 intermediate the width of the back of which is provided adepending tongue 11 defining with the back 9 a groove in which is received the suspension bar 4. The groove is provided with a recess 12 for engagement with the projection 5 and with projection 15 and a rib 13 for respective engagement with a recess in the bar 4 and the lower edge 14 of the bar 4. In a modification the rear face of the binder is provided with index label retaining ribs 16 and the external face of the window is provided with a convex surface 17 to form a magnifying strip.
