1298650 Cabinets J MANHEIM 10 Aug 1971 [21 Aug 1970] 37556/71 Heading A4B [Also in Division B8] A container which is adapted to be releasably secured to an identical container comprises a housing 16 and a slidable drawer 18, the housing including top and side walls 20, 21 respectively, flanges 22 which extend from the side walls and support the drawer, and a tongue 28 on the top wall 20 which is releasably engageable with the flanges 22 of an identical container. The tongue is tapered laterally from the rear to the front of the housing and the edges (36) of the flanges are parallel to the edges (32) of the tongue but define a groove 34 which is narrower than the tongue so that the flanges are resiliently biassed against the tongue of the identical container. The edges (32, 36) of the tongue and flanges are inclined downwardly and inwardly. The tongue has notches 35b and ribs 40 which engage stops 35a and grooves 28 respectively to secure the container against relative movement. The drawer and housing have cooperating recesses 72 and projections 70 respectively which restrain movement of the drawer out of the housing until the flanges 22 of the housing are moved apart by engagement with the tongue of an identical container. The housing has stops 62 to abut the rear wall 50 of the drawer and prevent its total removal. Ribs 44 facilitate handling of the housing. Ribs 58 fitting into recesses 60 in the side walls 21 of the housing facilitate removal of the drawer. The base of the drawer has a raised portion 52 and fixing lugs 54 to locate a tape cassette. Finger openings 56 in the side walls 26 of the drawer facilitate removal of the cassette. Lugs 42 extending from the top wall of the housing support an information card. The container is made of a transparent acrylic plastic.
