Abstract

1,107,427. Filing papers. TWINLOCK Ltd. 19 Aug., 1966 [19 Aug., 1965], No. 35678/65. Heading B6E. A suspension filing apparatus comprises a sleeve 3 for suspending bars 1a, 2a clamped to folders 1, 2, and inserts 6 which fit inside the ends of the sleeve to retain the folders in the sleeve and having rail-engaging formations 12 for co-operation with rails in filing cabinets &c. The sleeve 3 is of channel section and of metal or plastics material, the top edge of each leaf of each folder is permanently clamped in a sheetmetal angle section 1a or 2a, and the inserts 6 are made of injection moulded plastics material. The sleeve has inwardly-directed protuberances 7 to engage in elongated grooves (8, Fig. 2) in the sides of the inserts 6, to prevent unintentional withdrawal of the latter, and permit their adjustment. The end of the sleeve 3 is bevelled to facilitate reception of the bars 1a, 2a. Index tabs &c.-The inserts 6 may be differently coloured, and an index tab (13, Fig. 6) of transparent plastics material may be clipped to the sleeve 3. The tab is shaped to provide a compartment (14) between the tab and top of the sleeve to receive a label, and a projection (16) on the tab engages one of the protuberances 7 on the sleeve.
