An indicator strip for a paper file comprises a guide channel 2 of inwardly inclined shape in cross-section for the reception of a text strip 6 and a crescent-shaped magnifying plastic protective cover 7. The guide channel may form part of a suspension rail 12 or be attached to a file card 3.
