[Also in Group XIV] A tree pruner comprises a cutting device and a pivoted hand lever mounted at opposite ends of a sectional rigid tube and operatively connected by a sectional link member extending through the tube. As shown, an offset cutting device, consisting of a fixed blade 12 and a movable blade 13, is mounted on a bracket 11, the movable blade being pivoted at 24 to the section 23b of the link member, and the hand lever 14 is pivotally mounted in a bracket 15 and pivoted at 22 to the section 23 of the link member Sections of the tube are connected by a spigot and socket joint which is embraced by a resilient clip 27 having a peg 26 projecting through apertures 19, 20 in both sections, and the sections of the link member have hook and eye connections 30, 31 dimensioned to prevent disengagement within the tube.
